Job summary

Allstate Insurance is seeking a Senior ML Software Engineer Consultant II to own the full stack of software products, applying 12-factor principles and TDD. You will develop features across UI, APIs, and backend services, lead in architecture discussions, and ensure production readiness of GenAI and ML solutions.

The role emphasizes Java 17+ and Spring Boot 4.x+, Python, CI/CD with Jenkins or GitHub Actions, and experience deploying GenAI in production. Collaboration and mentoring are key.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Java 17+ and Spring Boot 4.x+.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience deploying GenAI and/or machine learning systems into production.
• Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent).
• Experience with MongoDB schema design, indexing, and performance optimization.
• Experience supporting production applications, monitoring, and incident response.
• Experience implementing authentication (OAuth, OIDC, SSO).
• Familiarity with observability platforms, logging, and application monitoring.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide input into architecture and design; collaborate with the team.
• Design, develop, and maintain features across UI, APIs, backend services, and infrastructure.
• Practice daily paired programming and test-driven development.
• Expand test coverage and enforce TDD practices.
• Lead and participate in standups and retrospectives; drive actionable improvements.
• Mentor junior team members and establish CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
