Job summary

Allianz Life is seeking a Senior Data Scientist (AI Engineer) to design, build, and support production-grade AI systems using GenAI and agentic AI. You will own end-to-end delivery, collaborating with a delivery team and stakeholders across the enterprise.

The role requires 4+ years of experience (or 3+ with a graduate degree), strong Python skills, and experience deploying AI/ML in cloud and Databricks environments. Excellent communication and leadership abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience required or 3+ years with a graduate degree
• Hands-on experience building generative AI and agentic solutions in Python
• Experience with cloud computing and big data platforms (Azure and Databricks)
• Strong production-grade Python coding skills
• Experience leading data-driven projects and presenting findings to leadership
• Experience with version control using Git / GitHub
• Familiarity with Databricks jobs/workflows and MLflow for experiment tracking
• Understanding of AI tools for prototyping (Claude Code or similar) desired
• Kubernetes or containers experience desired
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production-grade generative AI and agentic systems for enterprise deployment
• Productionize models within CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for release management and monitoring
• Build and maintain Databricks pipelines for GenAI and ML workloads
• Communicate designs and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Refine ambiguous business problems into concrete GenAI/ML technical plans
• Provide thought leadership on new AI/engineering methodologies
• Mentor junior team members and support their growth
• Utilize AI tools and resources (e.g., generative AI)
