Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking an experienced MLOps engineer for the Axion Data team to optimize data pipelines and the edge/cloud data engine. You will enable high‑fidelity model iteration, collaborate with stakeholders, and implement MLOps tooling for observability and efficiency.

The role emphasizes building scalable data systems, integrating foundation models, and ensuring robust software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop validation across edge and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience in ML/AI systems.
• Familiarity with modern ML infrastructure and data-centric AI approaches.
• Experience creating or working on microservices and/or databases for data-oriented software.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Construct optimized data pipelines to run ML models.
• Evolve data engine architecture to scale labels, reduce annotation costs, and accelerate ML iteration cycles.
• Integrate foundation models (LLMs, VLMs, and multimodal models) to automate labeling, QA, and data discovery.
• Leverage software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Interact with DoD customers to understand use cases and triage needs to deliver a superior experience.
