Job summary

Roblox is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for the Economy ML team in San Mateo, CA. You will design and deploy ranking and personalization models powering Marketplace, Developer Monetization, and Payments, optimizing pricing and creator earnings.

You will lead experiments, ensure production model health, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on roadmaps and success metrics while balancing system performance and business impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industry experience building recommender, search, or ranking systems for a high-scale product.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in modern recommender architectures and multi-GPU training; tradeoffs between quality, latency, and cost.
• Fluent in the ML lifecycle: strong coding in Python and PyTorch.
• Ability to design experiments, diagnose metrics, and iterate with statistical rigor.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers across Marketplace, Payments, and Developer Monetization.

Responsibilities

• Design and iterate on modern retrieval, ranking, and generative recommendation models powering Marketplace and shopping experiences.
• Make models efficient to train and serve at scale with attention to compute and latency budgets.
• Own end-to-end ML solutions—from data/feature exploration to production deployment on Roblox’s ML platform.
• Develop pricing and revenue policies while balancing ecosystem health and creator earnings.
• Design and run robust experiments (A/B and multi-cell) tied to core metrics like engagement and earnings.
• Maintain model health in production with monitoring and drift detection; participate in on-call for ML services.
• Partner with Product, Backend, Data Science, Design, and other Economy teams to define roadmaps and success metrics.
• Contribute to the Economy ML team's technical direction and long-term reward optimization.
