Job summary

Berkshire Grey, a leader in AI and robotics, seeks an experienced software engineer for the Scoop team to advance computer vision for trailer unloading. You will prototype solutions, build demos, and help transition prototypes to product teams, solving real-world warehouse challenges with fast, reliable robotic perception.

The role requires 4+ years in robotics software, strong Python/C++, PyTorch, and CV experience; mentoring, rapid iteration, and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Robotics, ML, CV, CS or related field.
• 4+ years of software development in robotics or related areas.
• Strong Python and C++ development experience.
• Experience with PyTorch and ML for CV tasks.
• Familiarity with numpy, pandas, scipy, matplotlib, scikit-learn.
• Ability to train/adapt CNNs/ViTs/VLMs for perception tasks.
• Ability to explain priorities and mentor juniors.

Responsibilities

• Develop solution prototypes for computer vision to improve robotic tasks.
• Prototype quickly and create demos for stakeholders.
• Serve as SME for transitioning prototypes to product teams.
• Identify high impact improvements for robotic systems.
• Stay current with robotics advancements and assess applicability.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns; communicate priorities.

Education

Master’s degree in Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Computer Science or a closely related field
