Job summary

Versant Media, part of CNBC, is hiring a Senior ML Engineer to build AI-powered equity research tools for investors. You’ll work on end-to-end ML systems, from data pipelines to inference, in a fast-changing, owner-driven environment.

You will collaborate with experienced market professionals, leverage cutting-edge ML/LLM tech, and contribute to production-grade AI features that scale to real users across CNBC’s brands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience with LLMs, ranking or recommendation systems, search, or applied NLP.
• Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Java.
• Solid understanding of modern ML techniques, including deep learning and representation learning.
• Experience building and operating production ML systems.
• Experience contributing to system design and technical decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core components of our AI platform: production-grade ML systems, LLM workflows, and supporting infrastructure for investors' experiences.
• Work in a small, autonomous team, contributing to product, engineering, and modeling decisions.
• Design, implement, and maintain production ML/AI systems at scale.
• Own end-to-end delivery of AI features from data pipelines to inference and monitoring; mentor peers to elevate ML quality.
• Solve complex technical problems with business impact; participate in code reviews and incident retrospectives.
• Support the team’s technical growth and identify risks in AI systems; improve model lifecycle management, monitoring, and evaluation.
