Job summary

VERSANT Media, powering CNBC's AI initiatives, seeks a Senior AI Engineer to build and operate distributed agentic AI systems for equity research. The role is hybrid, three days in the office, located at CNBC Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python and backend development skills.
• Experience with AWS cloud computing.
• Experience shipping GenAI/LLM-based systems in production.
• Experience building RAG pipelines with embeddings.
• Experience with agentic AI concepts (tool use, retrieval, etc.).
• Experience with LangChain, Mastra, or LangGraph.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end distributed agentic AI solutions that are reliable and scalable.
• Own complex features or subsystems from design through deployment and operation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate AI capabilities into products and data pipelines.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical standards for AI systems.
• Maintain observability and operational health, including cost metrics and incident response.
• Support the team’s overall technical growth.
• Identify and mitigate risks in AI systems, including performance and bias.
• Use and improve model lifecycle management, monitoring, and evaluation frameworks.
