Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a senior leader to drive the ML/AI strategy within the Guest & Host organization. You will lead a cross-functional team of ML, data engineering, and software engineers to shape and execute multi-year roadmaps for AI-powered products and experiences.

The role requires deep experience in machine learning, data pipelines, and technical leadership, with a strong track record of delivering enterprise-scale systems and collaborating across Product, Design, and Data Science teams.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of overall engineering experience with 5+ years managing a team in a fast paced, high growth tech environment
• Experience building, leading, and architecting full-stack products and systems at enterprise scale
• Experience in applying modern artificial intelligence technologies to products and development cycles
• Technical leadership: hands on experience leading project teams, setting technical direction and strategy, and working cross functionally with Product and Data Science teams
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams and organizations on technical initiatives

Responsibilities

• Drive alignment across engineering, product, and leadership on AI investment priorities and set the multi-year technical roadmap
• Partner with Product, Design, and Data Science to take high-impact ML initiatives from concept to production
• Ensure high-quality, efficient data pipelines that support both business and AI needs
• Define and own success metrics that tie ML work directly to business outcomes
• Grow and mentor a team of ML/Data engineers, raising the technical bar across the org
• Lead and mentor a senior team of Managers and Engineers across Machine Learning, Data Engineering and Software Engineering
