Job summary

Sony Interactive is seeking a Sr Software Engineer (Back End with ML experience) in San Mateo, CA for a 12-month contract. You will design and build scalable RESTful web services and ML models, collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced gaming environment.

The role requires 4+ years in Java/Python/Golang, experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow), and familiarity with AWS/GCP and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). Onsite presence 1–2 times per month.

Qualifications

• 4+ years design and programming in Java, Python and/or Golang for scalable web services.
• Experience in Machine Learning and DL frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
• Knowledge of AWS and/or GCP and NoSQL data stores.
• DevOps practices and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain RESTful web services API and algorithms.
• Build, train, test, and deploy ML models.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development.
• Create clear documentation and knowledge base articles.
• Work with PlayStation consoles, backend services, and QA teams to implement features.
• Diagnose and solve operational issues for high availability.
