Motion Recruitment Partners is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Back End Machine Learning team, based in San Mateo, CA. The role is a 1-year W2 contract with most work performed remotely and monthly onsite meetings in San Mateo.

You will design, build, and deploy scalable backend services and ML-powered features for a global gaming platform. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience with Java, Python, or Golang, experience with ML frameworks, and familiarity with Docker and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years hands‑on design and programming experience in Java, Python, and/or Golang.
• Experience building scalable, OO web server apps backed by NoSQL stores.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS and/or GCP.
• Background in ML development and application.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful Web Service APIs and supporting algorithms.
• Develop, train, test, and deploy ML models at scale.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with console, backend, and QA teams to implement features.
• Diagnose and resolve operational issues to maintain high availability.
• Contribute to technical docs, diagrams, and knowledge bases.
• Operate within an Agile/Scrum development methodology.
• Explore emerging technologies to deliver world‑class gaming experiences.
