Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Principal IC Design Engineer to lead the design of high‑speed data converters (ADCs/DACs) in FinFET CMOS. The role requires deep analog/mixed‑signal expertise and hands-on silicon development, with collaboration across architecture, layout, and validation teams.

The position is onsite in San Diego, CA or Cupertino, CA, with relocation support and occasional travel. Interviews include a technical assessment and strong emphasis on tape-out readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of industry experience or equivalent PhD research.
• Proficiency in high-speed ADC/DAC design in FinFET technologies.
• Proficiency in SerDes for high-speed data converters.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, development and integration of advanced ADCs/DACs and other analog/mixed-signal blocks.
• Develop high-level behavioral models in MATLAB/Simulink/SystemVerilog-AMS to validate performance.
• Use Spectre and AMS flows to develop high-performance mixed-signal circuits and systems.
• Collaborate with system architects to define block-level performance and interfaces.
• Oversee layout, integration, floorplanning and tape-out readiness.
• Develop test plans with validation and product engineers for bring-up and high yield.
• Mentor junior engineers on best practices in analog design.
