Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to develop mixed-signal, high-speed digital, and DSP-oriented hardware for tracking, telemetry, and command products used in airborne and space-based systems.

The role covers architecture, design, verification, integration, and production support for diverse modem subsystems, with emphasis on timing, signal integrity, and hardware/software partitioning. California-based, with US security clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 6+ years of prior related experience, or Graduate degree with 4+ years of prior related experience.
• Experience designing mixed-signal and high-speed digital hardware.
• Ability to obtain Active Secret security clearance.
• Strong understanding of timing, synchronization, clocking, throughput, and signal integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mixed-signal, high-speed digital, and DSP hardware for advanced electronic systems, including receivers, transmitters, and modem signal chains.
• Design hardware that supports DSP functions and optimize digital hardware platforms for DSP algorithms.
• Guide PCB layout and board-level implementation for high-speed designs, including stack-up, controlled impedance, and grounding.
• Conduct trade studies, simulations, hardware bring-up, debugging, verification, and troubleshooting at component level.
• Collaborate with FPGA, ASIC, RF, DSP, software, systems, and manufacturing teams; provide technical leadership and mentoring.
• Able to obtain an Active Secret security clearance.
