Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. is seeking a Staff Chief Engineer – Mission Software in Cincinnati to lead the architecture of cross‑sensor systems, ensure technical baselines, and drive requirements and verification across a multi‑disciplinary program.

The role requires deep systems engineering, experience with mission software, and a background in cloud and containerized architectures. Top Secret clearance is required for start and ongoing work in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 12+ years of related experience or STEM Master's with 10+ years or STEM PhD with 8+ years.
• Experience in systems engineering principles and processes, including requirements development and verification.
• Experience with mission software systems and multi-sensor data ingestion/processing, data fusion, or TCPED workflows.
• Experience with cloud-based/virtualized architectures and containerized microservices (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present to customers and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mission software architecture, interfaces, and CONOPS for common capabilities.
• Own and maintain the technical baseline and roadmap, aligned to mission objectives.
• Lead requirements development, allocation, and verification with traceability to customer needs.
• Coordinate with program management and engineering teams to ensure architecture meets requirements.
• Guide integration and test strategies, including simulation and automated testing.
