Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Missile Flight Software Engineer to support a missile system development program. The role involves developing requirements, design, implementing, integrating and testing missile-related embedded software.

The position requires strong embedded software discipline, experience with C/C++, RTOS, ARM, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, and Linux, and willingness to work extended hours and travel as needed. DoD clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelors, masters, or PhD in engineering or related field.
• Bachelors in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related engineering field required.
• Strong embedded software development discipline.

Responsibilities

• Assess and/or develop requirements, and design, implement, integrate and test work products.
• Direct hands-on development of software for real-time and embedded missile-related systems.
• Collaborates daily with GA and customer engineering and program management teams.
• Documents and presents technical information as required.
• Support development, review, and editing of technical documents.
• Work on a 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off.
