Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) is seeking a Chief Engineer in Huntsville, AL to lead the design and development of advanced missile and weapon systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in engineering from an accredited institution with progressive engineering experience is required.
• Deep understanding of chief engineer roles and responsibilities for new weapon systems is required.
• Experience developing technical inputs and cost estimates for proposals, RFIs is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of one or more weapon systems prototypes (missile/weapon system).
• Collaborate with GA and customer engineering and program management teams.
• Define system architecture and operations concepts to meet customer needs and program objectives.
• Develop Integrated Milestone Schedules with master scheduler and subsystem leads.
• Review and refine system requirements, verification plans, interfaces, and trade studies.
• Lead weekly engineering working groups and mitigate program risks.
• Prepare and present materials for technical reviews and customer briefings.
