Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Microsoft Information Protection Engineer to design, implement, and optimize DLP and sensitivity labeling policies across Microsoft 365. You will work with security, compliance, and IT teams to safeguard agency data while enabling secure collaboration and productivity.

The role requires ~5 years of experience with Microsoft information protection technologies and a Bachelor’s in IT/CS/Cybersecurity. Remote work is available with EPA Public Trust clearance considerations.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5 years implementing Microsoft Information Protection technologies.
• Experience administering Microsoft Purview DLP, MIP, and sensitivity labels.
• Experience with 365 Compliance and security solutions and CUI programs.
• Develop and maintain data protection policies and controls.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize Microsoft Purview DLP policies across Microsoft 365 services.
• Develop DLP controls to protect sensitive data and prevent exfiltration.
• Analyze Copilot impacts and enhance DLP controls accordingly.
• Support DLP for new business apps and platforms; perform testing and validation.
• Investigate DLP incidents and collaborate with stakeholders on improvements.
• Collaborate with auditors and compliance personnel during assessments.
