Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an experienced Microsoft Information Protection Engineer to design, implement, and optimize data protection across Microsoft 365 services. You will manage DLP policies, sensitivity labeling, and CUI compliance while guiding Copilot-related protections in a large enterprise environment.

The role emphasizes policy development, security governance, and collaboration with security and compliance teams to safeguard agency data and enable secure collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field with 9+ years of experience (or equivalent).
• Approximately 5 years of experience implementing Microsoft Information Protection technologies.
• Experience administering DLP, MIP, and Sensitivity Labels.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 security, compliance, and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize DLP policies across Microsoft 365 services.
• Develop and tune DLP controls to protect data from unauthorized disclosure or exfiltration.
• Assess Copilot security implications and enhance protection controls.
• Support DLP controls for new applications and platforms.
• Perform policy testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.
• Investigate DLP incidents and collaborate with stakeholders on remediation.
• Review DLP policies for ongoing effectiveness and compliance.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and business teams to define DLP requirements.
