Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Microsoft Information Protection Engineer to design, implement, and maintain data protection controls across the enterprise. Focus areas include DLP, sensitivity labeling, and CUI compliance, with emphasis on secure collaboration and productivity.

The ideal candidate has approximately five years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Information Protection technologies, DLP, labeling, and policy implementation in large environments, and must be able to obtain EPA Public Trust

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of related experience or equivalent.
• Approximately 5 years implementing Microsoft Information Protection technologies.
• Experience administering DLP, MIP, and sensitivity labels.
• Familiarity with CUI classifications and compliance programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize Purview DLP policies across Microsoft 365.
• Develop and tune DLP controls to protect sensitive organizational data.
• Assess impact of new AI security features (e.g., Copilot) on DLP.
• Support deployment of DLP controls for new applications.
• Perform policy testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.
• Investigate DLP incidents and provide user support.
• Review DLP policies for ongoing effectiveness and compliance.
• Collaborate with security, compliance, and business stakeholders on DLP needs.
• Administer and enhance Microsoft Purview Information Protection and Sensitivity Labels.
