Job summary

SSR Mining Inc. in Valmy, NV is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support planning, cost control, scheduling, and field construction for major mining projects.

You will coordinate with engineering, design, permitting, and budgeting teams to deliver study outcomes that guide project execution. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, 5+ years of project management in mining, and 10+ years in mining.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 5+ years of project management experience in engineering or mining.
• At least 10 years of professional mining experience.
• Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, scope management, and cost control.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for contract scope development, tendering, and awards.
• Manage third-party Engineering Design Consultants to align with project objectives.
• Develop Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for defined project scopes.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates and supporting AFE requests.
• Contribute to budgeting efforts, including capital, operating, and project costs.
• Oversee contractors via site supervision to ensure safety and performance.
• Collaborate with environmental, metallurgy, and capital project teams to integrate activities.
• Support environmental initiatives and regulatory compliance in project planning.
• Manage specific operating and capital projects under the Project Engineering Manager.
• Provide supervisory oversight as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
