Job summary

Stantec's Chandler, Arizona mining group seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead feasibility studies and detailed engineering for underground and surface mining projects, with emphasis on copper processing. You will manage a team of engineers, ensure safety and design compliance, and collaborate with Project Managers to align scope, risk, schedule, and budget.

The role supports client relations, proposals, and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent knowledge of design codes and Mine Health and Safety regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team and support business development.
• Previous project engineering experience on detailed engineering/construction projects.
• Willingness to travel to client sites (~10%).
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility studies and detailed engineering for underground and surface mining operations.
• Manage and direct a team of engineers and designers across engineering scopes and budgets.
• Interface with clients and project management to ensure scope, risks, and schedules are aligned.
• Provide technical leadership for proposals and execution strategies.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to Stantec's design processes and safety programs.
