Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for mining and heavy industrial projects, primarily supporting mining work in the Phoenix area. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through planning, design, and construction phases, ensuring code compliance and best practices.

The role requires a PE license and ~15 years of experience in heavy industry or mining. We offer a flexible work environment with potential hybrid schedules and opportunities across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineering license is required.
• 15 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry or surface or underground mining.
• Eligibility for a Professional Engineering license in the State of Arizona and/or Southwestern US states.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and engineering portions of all project phases from planning through post-construction.
• Plan, size, evaluate, select, and specify electrical systems per codes and standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and lead development of construction drawings and specs.
• Lead cost estimation, scheduling, QA/QC, and client communications as needed.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers and oversee multiple projects.
