Job summary

Sedgman invites applications for a ProjectEstimator to drive cost estimating across mining and mineral processing studies and projects. This role can be based in Phoenix, Vancouver, or Montreal, joining a team delivering complex engineering solutions for the global resources sector.

You will lead estimates from engineers and stakeholders, maintain estimating databases, and advance risk management tools while contributing to continuous improvement across our estimating processes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience estimating within engineering or construction environments in the mining industry.
• Experience in developing estimates from AACE Class 1 to Class 5.
• Experience with @Risk or similar risk management software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including high-level proofreading and document quality control
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate estimates for multiple studies/projects simultaneously
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders and cross‑functional teams when developing cost estimates
• Experience with estimating systems, databases, and continuous improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for studies/projects, ensuring alignment with time, cost, and quality targets.
• Lead and collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to develop estimates and risk assessments.
• Maintain and improve estimating systems, databases, templates, and cost records, including final design take-offs.
• Track, report, and manage estimating activities.
• Establish, maintain, and continuously improve estimating databases, price books, templates, and spreadsheets.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating risk management processes and tools.
