Job summary

Peabody Energy is seeking a Senior Manager Engineering & Environmental to lead engineering and environmental activities at the Shoal Creek Mine in Alabama. You will oversee mining plans, environmental permits, surveying, and related capital projects.

The role requires a BS in Mining Engineering, PE licensure, 8–10 years of coal mining experience, and strong leadership. Travel and advanced technical skills in AutoCAD/SurvCADD and cost control are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering with environmental background.
• Professional Engineering Certification preferred; ability to obtain in near future.
• AutoCAD, SurvCADD, COGO, Ventilation Modelling, SMCRA, HAZWOPER, and Microsoft Office.
• Solid comprehension of capital cost estimating, project cost control and schedule management.
• Minimum of 8–10 years coal mining experience in underground and surface mining.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate engineering feasibility studies, mine plans, capital requirements and mine designs.
• Provide support for new mine construction activity and operations.
• Manages engineering and environmental surveying to record production data.
• Ensure accurate production and operating reports to Mine Management and Corporate Office.
• Develop long-term mining plans and reclamation permits; obtain regulatory approvals.
• Provide engineering assistance in planning, layout and construction of mine infrastructure.
• Review operations to decrease costs or improve efficiency.
• Monitor compliance with mining and reclamation laws and permits.
• Coordinate with Mine Management on projects to rectify compliance issues.
• Act as company's representative during inspections when needed.
