Qualifications

Our client, a major mining operator, is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to oversee operational excellence and energy integration at their site near Welkom . This role is critical for optimizing mining operations while strategically integrating energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy sources to reduce operational costs and environmental impact. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mine planning, operations management, and a keen understanding of energy systems within the mining context. You will be instrumental in driving innovation and sustainability in one of the most significant mining regions in the Free State . Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement optimized mine plans focusing on operational efficiency and energy consumption reduction.
• Oversee daily mining operations, ensuring safety, productivity, and adherence to production targets.
• Identify opportunities for integrating renewable energy sources (solar, wind) and energy storage solutions into mine operations.
• Analyze energy usage patterns and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost savings.
• Manage the implementation of new technologies related to energy management and operational optimization.

Requirements
