Job summary

Andean Precious Metals Corp. is seeking a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to lead the development, optimization, and execution of long-, medium-, and short-range mine plans for safe and efficient production in our U.S.

operations, including California. The role reports to the Technical Services Manager and requires seven years of planning experience in large open-pit mining, with a strong background in integrating geology, operations, survey, and maintenance to improve productivity and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of planning experience in large open-pit operations.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Able to work effectively across departments and organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ore and waste delivery to achieve production targets and mine plan objectives.
• Prepare daily mine plan compliance report to management.
• Produce periodic reconciliation calculations comparing reserves block model, ore control model, production models and mining actuals.
• Ensure pit walls and dumps comply with design and permits for safe and profitable operations.
• Verify the tons and grade extracted from the mine according to royalty holders’ agreements.
• Identify opportunities to improve mine planning, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Manage database information systems for haulage design, ore dilution tracking, blast hole and exploration drilling projects.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on production optimization and cost reduction.
