Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Mining Consultant to join the mining team in the West or South West offices. You will provide technical guidance for large, high‑complexity projects and lead mining teams through all phases of design, execution, and commissioning.

You will evaluate mining systems, coordinate with clients, internal teams, and external partners, and help develop new standards while ensuring health and safety compliance and project budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
• 20+ years of relevant experience.
• Preferably with a strong operational background.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for large projects of high complexity.
• Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers mining systems.
• Participates in project coordination meetings with internal teams, external consultants, owner and contractor, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Participates in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
• Participates in constructability review.
• Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
• Leads and provides guidance in the development of new standards and specifications for the mining group.
• Review project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects.
• Reviews proposals for mining projects.
