Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Senior Mining Construction Manager to lead all on-site construction activities for a large mining EPCM project within the Earth & Environment team. This full-time role oversees civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and earthworks scopes on open pit and underground environments.

You will coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project controls, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while delivering successful outcomes for the client.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in large-scale heavy civil construction, process facilities, and/or mining infrastructure.
• Hands-on construction management experience in active mining settings, across open pit and underground projects preferred.
• Knowledge of mineral processing facilities construction (crushing, milling, recovery circuits).
• Understanding heap leach pad construction, stacking systems, and environmental controls.
• Commitment to safety; MSHA and OSHA 30-hour training preferred.
• Experience with construction plans, specs, and relating to project scope, schedule, and cost.
• Strong verbal/written communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
• Ability to liaise between designers, owners, contractors, and end-users.
• Certifications preferred (PE, PMP, CCM, etc.).
• Able to walk distances on uneven sites, climb ladders, and work in active construction environments above and underground.
• Must pass drug test, background check and have a satisfactory driving record per policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction oversight for mine infrastructure, processing facilities, and related support facilities.
• Manage construction contractors, subcontractors, and field teams with safety, cost, schedule, and quality oversight.
• Serve as the primary interface between owner, contractor, and engineering teams to ensure clear communication and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with design engineers, geotechnical teams, and stakeholders to support constructability and field modifications.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure on-site health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Oversee QA/QC, inspection, and material testing programs to confirm construction meets requirements.
• Support procurement and field implementation of key materials and systems.
• Develop and manage construction execution plans, schedules, risk registers, and cost tracking for large earthworks projects.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the growth of WSP’s mining EPCM practice.
