Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Mining Construction Contract Administrator to oversee contracts for a large mining EPCM project within our Earth & Environment team. This full-time onsite role supports field operations and procurement processes across the project.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in procurement and contract management for heavy civil or mining infrastructure, strong negotiation and communication skills, MSHA certification, and the ability to work safely in active construction environments

Qualifications

• 5+ years of procurement and contract management experience in large-scale heavy civil construction, process facilities, and/or mining infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on contract administration, documentation, and communication while onsite during a large-scale project with multiple vendors.
• Knowledge of contract terms and conditions, negotiations, and industry standards and regulations.
• MSHA certification is required.
• Strong verbal/written communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and decision‑making skills with good working computer capabilities in MS Office products.
• Ability to liaise between designers, owners, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Able to walk distances on uneven sites, climb small ladders, and work in an active construction environment both above and underground.
• Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and administer contracts to ensure compliance with agreed terms and conditions in collaboration with the client and the WSP procurement, construction management, and project controls teams.
• Support the preparation, negotiation, and execution of field work instructions, amendments and contract change orders.
• Monitor contractual obligations, deliverables, milestones, notices, and deadlines.
• Identify contractual risks and work with project, legal, commercial, finance, and procurement teams to mitigate them.
• Manage contract correspondence, records, claims, variations, and supporting documentation.
• Provide guidance to project team on contractual rights, responsibilities, processes, and escalation requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering and internal stakeholders on contract‑related matters.
• Assist with commercial reporting, cost impacts, payment provisions, and contractual performance tracking.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
