Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation seeks an experienced mining engineer to lead open pit planning, design and project coordination. You will develop daily to monthly plans, optimize pit designs and assess equipment needs while aligning with budgets and the life-of-mine plan.

You will mentor staff, manage performance, and collaborate across departments to maximize productivity and revenue. Strong safety focus and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering from ABET accredited program.
• Minimum five years in open pit mining environment.
• Engineering techniques for pit design, mine planning, equipment analysis, project management.
• Understand open-pit mining and heap leaching concepts.
• Proficient in MineSight, Deswik or Vulcan; MS Office suite.
• Experience supervising personnel and safety-focused.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter who works in a team; able to manage multiple tasks.
• Able to work rotation, holidays, shifts and weekends.
• Possess valid driver's license; commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee short-term plans (daily, weekly, monthly) based on reserves and budgets.
• Generate medium-term mine plans in coordination with departments.
• Contribute to long-term and LOM planning coordination.
• Mentor and develop direct reports for optimal performance.
• Evaluate designs and plans to maximize productivity and revenue.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activities impacting daily production targets.
