Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation seeks a Senior Geologist to lead a team of mine geologists and oversee underground drilling operations in production environments. You will provide technical guidance, manage geological data systems, and drive safe, efficient decision-making across projects.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in mining geology, underground experience, and strong skills in data analysis, reporting, and leadership to mentor the geology team and optimize mine design and grade control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering is required.
• 5–8 years in geology within the mining industry with underground mine experience.
• Experience collecting geological field data, underground mapping and sampling preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to compile, interpret, and analyze geologic and assay data.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities for production geology and mine-exploration groups.
• Develop and maintain geological operating and sampling procedures.
• Manage active drilling operations related to production geology and mine exploration programs.
• Prepare technical reports, models, and recommendations for decision-making.
• Update mineral inventory and geological models for short-range planning.
• Design and oversee drilling programs and contracts.
• Collect field data and integrate with digital models.
• Mentor geology team members and promote safety and best practices.
