Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation in Washington State seeks an experienced Mine Engineer to develop and implement short- and long-term underground mine plans. You will design development layouts, supervise ventilation and ground control, and coordinate with Technical Services to improve safety and efficiency.

The role requires 3 years of underground mining experience, proficiency in Deswik software, and strong analytical and communication skills, with a valid US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years underground mine engineering experience or equivalent.
• Experience with underground mine planning, design, and production scheduling.
• Proficiency in Deswik or similar mine planning software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans and schedules.
• Prepare underground mine designs including development layouts and stopes.
• Integrate ventilation, ground control, mine services, geology, and operations into plans.
• Assist with engineering studies, evaluations, and capital projects.
• Prepare drawings, reports, cost estimates, and supporting docs.
• Monitor development progress and compare to plan, suggesting corrective actions.
• Support planning meetings and contractors' proposals.
