Job summary

U.S. Silica seeks an experienced Millwright in Jackson, MS to install, repair, and maintain machinery, lead crews, and uphold safety and quality standards.

You will read blueprints, install equipment, and improve reliability with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, outdoor setting. Travel and overtime may be required, with focus on safe, efficient operations within a major industrial environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 8+ years of millwright experience including supervisory roles.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environments and outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform mechanical installations, shutdowns, repairs, and maintenance work.
• Train and mentor millwrights and support a strong safety culture.
• Work with management to improve maintenance and equipment reliability.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Dismantle, move, align, assemble, and install machinery and equipment.
• Build foundations and secure machinery by bolting, welding, or fastening.
• Operate lathes and tools to machine parts to specification.
• Repair, lubricate, and maintain equipment.
• Perform basic electrical tasks related to motor replacement.
• Install robotic equipment and make basic program changes.
• Supervise small crews and see projects through completion.
• Follow all safety, quality, and food/feed safety requirements.
• Work overtime and respond to emergency call-outs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
