Job summary

U.S. Silica is seeking a skilled Millwright to install, repair, and maintain industrial machinery at our Jackson, MS facility.

You will lead mechanical installations, train cohorts, read blueprints, dismantle, align, and install equipment, and oversee safety adherence on site. You will troubleshoot issues, perform basic electrical tasks related to motor replacement, install robotic equipment, and supervise small crews to ensure projects finish on schedule while upholding quality standards and

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 8+ years millwright experience including supervisory roles.
  • Strong safety and quality focus.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced outdoor environments; climb stairs and ladders.
  • Good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work overtime and respond to emergency call-outs as needed.

Job description

The Millwright installs machinery and equipment in an industrial establishment by performing the following:

Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform mechanical installations, shutdowns, repairs, and maintenance work
  • Train and mentor millwrights and support a strong safety culture
  • Work with management to improve maintenance and equipment reliability
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and complete repairs with minimal supervision

Qualifications
  • Required:
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • 8+ years of millwright experience, including supervisory or lead roles.
    • High level of safety and quality
    • Ability to multi-task at a fast pace (at times), work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.)
    • Good problem-solving skills
  • Preferred:
    • Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) Knowledge - Preferred
    • Forklift experience - Preferred
    • Computer Software - Preferred
    • Warehouse experience - Preferred
