Job summary

Bowhead seeks an experienced Watercraft Operator to support military maritime operations and testing at Camp Pendleton, CA. The role involves operating RHIBs and maintaining vessels to ensure safe, reliable test results.

Responsibilities include coordinating multiple watercraft in close proximity, navigating with radar and GPS, and supporting emergency procedures and dive operations as part of test objectives.

Qualifications

  • Current U.S. Coast Guard license or 10 years' military small-boat experience.
  • Experience supporting DoD/Navy test and evaluation.
  • Experience operating 11-meter RHIBs and larger watercraft.
  • Training in navigation, maritime safety, first aid or emergency response.
  • Experience with radar, GPS, and night-vision systems.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain RHIBs and other military watercraft.
  • Support maritime test operations, sea trials, and data collection.
  • Coordinate multiple watercraft in close-quarters safely.
  • Maintain vessel logs and maintenance records.
  • Assist in emergency response and SAR operations.
  • Support offshore and amphibious operations up to 50 NM.
