Job summary

Solve­re Technical Group in Virginia Beach seeks an experienced Marine Mechanic to support maintenance, repairs and testing on government vessels. Work includes propulsion, hydraulics, and electrical systems aboard RHIBs and related equipment, with travel to CONUS locations.

Required five years of marine mechanics, USCG boating course certification and a valid passport. Company benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO and disability coverage.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of marine mechanic experience.
  • Must have or be able to obtain current USCG boating course certification.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a passport.
  • Requires experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; good communication and organizational skills.
  • Prior RHIB/federal or USCG boat experience desirable.
  • Clean driving record; own tools and toolbox required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team performing mechanical repairs and maintenance on government vessels.
  • Performs equipment assessments and repairs and identifies failures.
  • Repair and replace small boat sponson collar systems.
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs and replacements of trailer components.
  • Perform regular maintenance including oil and filter changes.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting, installation and testing.
  • Operates forklift and safety gear; conduct testing prior to delivery.
  • Transport boats to/from client locations using company vehicle.
  • Identify materials required for repairs and manage progress to standards.
