JANUS Research Group is supporting the Mission Command Battle Lab (MCBL) at Fort Leavenworth, KS. The MCBL is the Army Futures Command’s (AFC) premier lab for experimentation on the Command and Control (C2) Warfighting Function, Echelons Above Brigade and the integration of all Warfighting Functions. MCBL investigates emerging concepts and technologies, and explores the deep future through experimentation, studies, and prototyping to inform C2 capability development and Echelons Above Brigade modernization efforts.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide military systems analyst support to Concept Development and Prototype Experimentation for MCBL.
  • Responsible for interfacing with and briefing Government personnel (Military and Civilian) of all ranks.
  • Develop, implement, oversee, and improve as necessary those processes and procedures required to address and satisfy the Government's contractually defined objectives while ensuring high-quality products and services.
  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, updating project plans, approving expenditures, and making decisions about department-related purchases.
  • Coordinate and/or attend cross-functional meetings of personnel related to the project.
  • Report status, develop project-related documentation and implement lessons learned.
  • Participate in project performance review meetings and discussions (when required).
  • Responsible for developing and accessing documentation in the form of reports, proposals, white papers, and briefings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Security Clearance: Secret required.
  • BA or BS from an accredited university.
  • 10 years’ experience as an Army/USMC operator with knowledge and experience in Army/USMC operations.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge and experience in systems analysis and design, information system requirements determination, and operational architecture development.
  • Service at the level of brigade/division/corps or higher is required as is familiarity with Army/Joint capability development.
  • Completion of IA Level I Training within 30 days of contract start date.
  • Other duties as outlined, such as providing analytical and scenario support to the event, as well as conducting futures research and foresight activities.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous service within joint and/or combined organizations.
  • Familiarity with Army and Joint C2 information systems.
  • Familiarity with Cyber and Space capabilities.
  • Red Teaming/Alternative Analysis functions and skills that allow for exploring alternative concepts and solution approaches.
  • Process Mapping and Improvement abilities to map and apply data/statistical analysis as part of efforts to apply automation and artificial intelligence in the future.
  • Preferred educational requirements include an MA or MS degree in a relevant science or technology area from an accredited university and graduation from Command and General Staff College (MEL 4) or equivalent service command/general staff college.
  • Demonstrated experience as a task leader in support of Army or joint capability development processes and requirements.
