Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mid/Sr System Administrator to support a large, distributed network in a fast-paced, security-focused environment. The role emphasizes ensuring secure configurations, patching, and ongoing operational readiness across air-gapped systems, with a 15k sign-on bonus and opportunities for technical growth.

The ideal candidate will have strong skills in Windows Server 2019, Active Directory, and multiple security tools, with experience maintaining complex IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical field and at least 8 years of relevant experience
• Experience as a systems administrator providing direct support to end users and technical staff
• Proficiency with Windows Server 2019 and Active Directory
• Experience with software/hardware deployment, patches, OS, and backup/restore
• Familiarity with SALT, Ansible, Splunk, Puppet, SolarWinds, Nessus
• Knowledge of RedHat and VMware
• Solid understanding of advanced security protocols and standards
• Experience with Client and Server virtualization environments
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel occasionally

Responsibilities

• Install applications, administer systems and processes, and resolve issues promptly
• Ensure server/desktop configurations are optimized and continuously running
• Perform security management and application performance optimization
• Administer/sustain a web-based information storage/sharing system
• Maintain complex server enclaves, patching, cert renewals, vulnerability management
• Identify and fix hardware/software issues
• Respond to system administration/maintenance problems and devise rework solutions
• Document complex server/network environments for incident resolution
• Communicate outages and upgrades with users and management
