Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks an experienced R&D Physics Engineer to contribute to emerging computing hardware research, including quantum information science and neuromorphic computing. You will work on devices, materials, and advanced measurement techniques in a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires onsite work and offers opportunities to collaborate across government and industry while advancing DOE missions and cutting-edge technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience or equivalent.
• Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Graduate degree in Physics or a highly related field with independent research.

Responsibilities

• Solve near- and long-term material and processing problems with emerging computing hardware.
• Develop understanding of device dynamics and architectures with various devices.
• Develop and implement novel control systems and measurements.
• Collaborate within Sandia and with external R&D partners in QIS and related fields.
