Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA seeks a Postdoctoral Appointee in the Materials Physics Department to explore novel quantum phenomena and design microelectronics devices for AI and quantum computing.

Qualifications

  • PhD in semiconductor physics, condensed matter physics, electrical engineering, materials science, or other related science.
  • A record of publications in peer‑reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently as well as contribute creatively to team efforts
  • Perform micro- and nano-scale device fabrication using photo and e‑beam lithography
  • Perform low temperature electronic transport measurements, data analysis and device simulation
  • Operate 3He and dilution refrigerator cryogenic systems
  • Present results at national/international meetings and publish research in high profile peer‑reviewed journals
