Job summary

Kennesaw State University in Georgia is seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer to design, deploy, and support a secure hybrid Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive. You will automate tenant operations with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph, enforce governance, monitor service health, and collaborate with IAM, Security, and Networking to ensure compliant, reliable services.

This role req;ures five years of experience and a relevant degree.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in IT/CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
Five years of experience engineering and administering Microsoft 365.
Microsoft certifications (e.g., M365 Administrator Expert) preferred.

Responsibilities

Own and engineer Microsoft 365 tenant services across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
Design secure, scalable Microsoft 365 architecture aligned to business needs.
Create and maintain mail flow, transport rules, and messaging security configurations.
Define and enforce governance for Teams, SharePoint sites, and OneDrive sharing.
Engineer Teams policies and platform integrations in alignment with security requirements.
Lead migration of legacy file shares to SharePoint Online, ensuring adoption and governance.
Automate tenant operations using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph; reduce manual toil.
Serve as 4th level escalation for complex Microsoft 365 issues.
Maintain standards; document changes and exceptions.
Align operations with ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
Plan and execute changes through governance and CAB processes.
Monitor service health and capacity; respond to alerts.
Partner with IAM and Security teams on Conditional Access and MFA.
Develop architecture diagrams, runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge articles.
Participate in emergency on-call rotation and major incident response.
