Job summary

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems division is hiring a Senior Microgrid Controls Engineer to design, develop, test, implement and commission Microgrid Control solutions for customers across the U.S., using Automation Controllers, HMIs, relays, and data concentrators.

The role requires up to 35% travel, a background in PV, BESS, Diesels/Generators, and coordination with multiple Eaton groups to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 3 years in power distribution controls
• Knowledge of Electric Power Systems and Microgrid operations
• Understanding of DERs (PV, BESS, Generators)
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
• PE License preferred and useful for design and compliance

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement and commission Microgrid Control solutions (PV, BESS, Diesels/Generators)
• Follow customer drawings/specifications and internal project standards
• Prepare submittals, BOMs, and coordinate with Vendors and Electrical Designers
• Collaborate with Eaton teams to deliver complete Microgrid power systems
• Assist with factory testing and field start-ups, troubleshoot issues as needed
