Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Microelectronics Engineer to support Surface Mount Technology Manual Assembly for Space at our SALT facility in Elkridge, Maryland. The Sr.

Principal will serve as the definitive technical authority for manufacturing engineering across the plant. The role requires collaboration across disciplines, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with J-STD-001, AS9100, and IPC standards while guiding tooling development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering; 8+ years in Manufacturing/Process Engineering, or a master’s with 6+ years.
• Fluency in MS Office software applications.
• US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and Engineering Support: ensure engineering processes for development, production, test and sustainment.
• Coordinate with program IPTs for cross-functional alignment and best practices.
• Monitor production processes and drive data-driven continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance on tooling and fixtures for assembly.
• Ensure compliance with J-STD-001, AS9100 and IPC/MIL-STDs.
