Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist IV in the Microbiology Laboratory. The role requires NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or eligibility, plus demonstrated relevant experience.

A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, or a Life Science is preferred, along with microbiology/generalist registry and recent LIS experience. Pre-employment checks include health clearance, references, and drug screening.

Qualifications

• NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or documented eligibility with demonstrated relevant experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, or Life Science; Microbiology or generalist registry (or Registry Eligible); LIS experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates technical competence in plating, isolating, analyzing and bacterial identification per protocol.
• Performs microbiology bench work in a team atmosphere with responsibility for accurate lab results.
• Operates and maintains instruments and lab equipment with routine maintenance as assigned.

Education

NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, or Life Science

Microbiology or generalist registry (or Registry Eligible) from a nationally recognized organization

Recent Clinical Bacteriology and recent LIS experience
