Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist II/III/IV to join the Central Core Laboratory. The role involves performing high complexity coagulation/chemistry testing and maintaining quality control while adhering to NYS licensing requirements and hospital policies.

This full-time position includes weekend work on a rotating basis, opportunities for continuing education, and a starting salary range of $93,142–$117,055 with location pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Required: NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or documented eligibility, including provisional/limited permit eligibility with demonstrated relevant experience.
• Preferred: Generalist with a strong background in Hematology and Chemistry. ASCP Certification. Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Biological or Life Sciences. Master’s Degree.

Responsibilities

• Line responsibility for the performance of clinical analysis in the Department of Laboratories.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting according to established protocols.
• Adhere to quality control policies and procedures.
• Perform high complexity coagulation/chemistry testing using manual and automated methods.
• Assist in implementing and validating new procedures.
• Interact professionally with nursing staff, physicians, and other hospital personnel.
• Incumbent will be required to work every other weekend, pass days and holidays as assigned.
