Job summary

RTX is seeking an Engineering Support Solder Technician in Huntsville to rework micro-sized components on CCAs and prototype sub-assemblies, using SMT soldering and related fabrication skills. The role involves prototyping and repair of returned materials, documenting all work for conformity, and supporting the Engineering team as needed.

The candidate will perform fine-pitch SMT soldering under a microscope, verify quality, build and repair cable assemblies, and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or AA/AS degree with 4+ years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Micro-soldering under a microscope
• Quality verification under a microscope
• Repair and replacement of wire harnesses and cable assemblies
• Replace mechanical and electrical components
• Identify failures and propose corrective actions
• Work from verbal instructions to achieve output
• Keep management informed of unresolved issues affecting schedules or quality
• Provide support to Engineering development and lab assignments
