Job summary

Amazon’s OMHS Integration & Deployment organization seeks a Sr Ops Engineer - Mechanical Equipment SME to lead installation programs for next‑gen material handling systems. You will author installation job plans, specify torque, alignment tolerances, and turnover criteria to prevent early reliability issues.

You will validate field work, drive continuous improvement, and partner with Design Engineering, RME, and Construction to deliver comprehensive installation standards and training for site

Qualifications

• 5+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects.
• 5+ years of Reliability Program Manager experience.
• 5+ years of maintenance or engineering experience using Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Develop installation job plans for MHE equipment with torque specifications, alignment tolerances, assembly sequences, and acceptance criteria.
• Author and maintain mechanical installation standards and pre-turnover punch list criteria for all OMHS equipment types.
• Apply failure mode knowledge from equipment service history to identify installation practices that drive long-term reliability and integrate them into every job plan.
• Validate mechanical installation work in the field; identify deficiencies, document findings, and drive corrective action to closure.
• Partner with site installation teams to interpret engineering drawings, resolve field fit-up issues, and validate alignment and tolerance requirements.
• Develop mechanical commissioning protocols and equipment turnover packages that set up site RME teams for success from day one.
• Collaborate with the rest of the team to create integrated system acceptance packages.
• Analyze early-life failures to identify systemic installation quality gaps and feed corrections back into job plans.
• Create training content for field supervisors and 3P crews on mechanical installation quality expectations.
• Represent OMHS I&D in cross-functional forums with Design Engineering, RME, and Construction on mechanical installation best practices.
