Job summary

S&C Electric Company in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Metrology Technologist to calibrate mechanical measuring equipment, manage 12,000 instruments, and ensure procedures are current. You will enter data, update calibration documents, and collaborate with suppliers and engineering teams to obtain and verify calibration needs.

The role requires strong PC skills, the ability to read mechanical drawings, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Read mechanical drawings and interpret tolerances.
• Advanced PC skills with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Maintain accurate calibration records and data entry.
• Prepare and update calibration procedures and certificates.
• Coordinate with suppliers for repair or calibration needs.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate mechanical measuring equipment.
• Data entry for calibration certificates.
• Update calibration procedures as needed.
• Create P-Shippers and manage shipments.
• Contact suppliers for repairs or calibration.
• Provide technical support on measuring equipment to team members.
• Send weekly reminders about calibration due dates.
• Represent the calibration lab during audits by customers/ISO.
