Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an equipment engineer to join a talented team focused on establishing and maintaining world-class process equipment and implementing yield enhancements as a competitive advantage.

You will monitor fabrication equipment, qualify new tools, coordinate qualifications and downtime, analyze data with software, adjust parameters, and drive ongoing SOP improvements while supporting a 24x7 manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science (3.0 GPA for new grads)
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language
• Understanding of statistical methods
• Change Point Management experience with Lean, TPS, or 5S
• Strong problem-solving methodologies (8D, 7-step, etc.)
• Experience with software data analysis tools (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab)
• Troubleshooting equipment or process failures
• Ability to work in cleanroom environment with PPE and lift <35 lbs
• Willingness to support 24x7 manufacturing shifts

Responsibilities

• Monitor wafer fabrication equipment and respond to issues
• Qualify new manufacturing equipment
• Coordinate equipment qualifications and downtime with manufacturing
• Use software to analyze data and identify processing trends
• Adjust parameters when needed and monitor tool maintenance
• Execute in-line process/equipment changes (CPM)
• Present technical information within the department
• Complete duties as assigned and update SOPs
• Develop improved processes to increase capability
• Monitor costs and pursue cost-reduction projects
