Job summary

Gnostech, LLC is seeking an Engineering Technician V to support NAVWAR/ NIWC Pacific METOC In Service Engineering programs. The role delivers full lifecycle engineering support for METOC systems, including design, integration, testing and maintenance, working with a small team and end users.

The position requires DoD 8570 IAT II or Security+ CE, Linux and Windows experience, CANES familiarity, US citizenship and eligibility for a government clearance, and domestic/international travel (2–4 trips

Qualifications

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or equivalent.
• Experience producing technical reports and documentation.
• Familiarity with CANES (Consolidated Afloat Network Enterprise Services).
• Hands-on experience with both Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally (2–4 trips/year).
• U.S. citizen and eligible for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver full lifecycle support for METOC systems including design, integration, testing and maintenance.
• Support Fleet Technical Sustainment for end customers and ensure post-deployment readiness.
• Prepare technical documentation: manuals, specifications, reports, drawings.
• Analyze engineering data to review designs and specifications.
• Record test data, identify complex issues, and prepare formal reports.
• Conduct root cause analysis and system-level troubleshooting.
• Assist in redesigns for obsolete components and create schematics.
• Maintain maintenance concepts and procedures throughout the lifecycle.
• Provide on-site technical assistance including SOVT support.
• Perform tests and experiments; adapt procedures as required.
• Construct and evaluate prototypes for engineering projects.
• Work independently or on moderately complex projects; interface with teams.
• May assist lower-level technicians and coordinate with other departments.
