Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to collaborate with peers on maintaining and developing critical process parameters for ALD processes. The role focuses on identifying complex problems and implementing solutions within the Metals team.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of semiconductor experience, EMERALD ALD platform knowledge, and strong analytical and communication skills. This is a full-time on-site position in Austin with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in semiconductor process flows.
• Experience in high-volume semiconductor manufacturing desirable.
• EMERALD ALD platform experience highly desired.
• Strong understanding of critical process parameters, monitoring strategies, and equipment signals.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues and drive containment as needed.
• Own gaps in KPI performance for ALD process flows and develop projects with schedules to close gaps.
• Produce high-quality results and reports with clear documentation of state and improvements.
• Perform root-cause analyses (e.g., 8D) and implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
• Monitor processes and equipment daily, acting on trends and abnormal behavior.
• Create and update SOPs to standardize flows and improve methods.
• Support cost-reduction activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Interface with equipment engineers, technicians, and manufacturing teams to update status and priorities.
